Tale - skrift - digital skrift: Om digitalisering og språklige funksjoner
Abstract
Speech and writing are conventionally regarded as primary media for the realization of human language. In this article, I argue that digital writing can be understood as a third primary medium, and I compare the three with respect to certain basic media functions: the potential for information storage and access, the potential for information presentation and the potential for interaction between participants in a communication process. The article focuses specifically on the potential of hypertext, technologically and linguistically, and it presents some prototypical examples of how hypertext may alter and develop a well known genre, namely the news report.
