Abstract

The article deals with the problem of classification of knowledge for efficient retrieval. One suggestion is the use of a dynamic net, based on the user behaviour in retrieving information from databases. There are two dilemmas pinpointed: the dilemma to establish boundaries, and the dilemma with time. Different traditional methods are reported as well as newer methods as hypertext and World Wide Web methods. The article concludes in the need for cooperation in the intersection area of information science, especially the discipline of classification, and computer science, to be able to manage the problem of efficient retrieval of knowledge and information from the huge flood of information of today.
